Harvard to Run ‘Trade Schools’ Under $500m Settlement, Trump Says
President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that his administration is nearing a $500 million settlement with Harvard University, under which the Ivy League school would be required to operate trade schools across the United States. Speaking at the White House, Trump framed the move as both a financial penalty and a workforce development strategy. “They’d be paying about $500 million and they’ll be operating trade schools,” Trump said. “They’re going to be teaching people how to do AI and lots of other things — engines, lots of things. It’s a big investment in trade school done by very smart people, and then their sins are forgiven.” Harvard has not yet responded to Trump’s remarks.
