The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has dismissed reports that notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has surrendered to the military. Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, clarified the situation on Thursday in Abuja while briefing journalists on the Armed Forces’ recent activities. “Simple answer to the question about terrorist leader, Bello Turji: Turji has not surrendered. We are still on the lookout for him,” Kangye said. Group Demands Immediate Release of 48 Detained Bauchi Polytechnic Students

16 Inmates Escape in Another Nigerian Prison Break

At least 16 inmates escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Keffi (New) in Nasarawa State in the early hours of Tuesday, adding to the growing list of jailbreaks in Nigeria in recent years. According to Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) spokesperson Umar Abubakar, the escape followed a coordinated breach in the facility’s security during which the inmates attacked officers on duty. “Some inmates breached the security of the facility and attacked personnel on duty to compromise the situation, enabling sixteen (16) inmates to escape custody,” Abubakar said in a statement. Russia to Ban Foreign-Made Military Clothing from 2026

Gunmen Abduct Nine Passengers Along Kogi Highway
