According to ECG, engineering teams have been deployed to the station and are actively working to identify and rectify the fault to restore stable electricity supply as quickly as possible. The affected roads include the route linking Borla Junction to Community 22 Washing Bay and the stretch connecting Community 22 to Community 22 Annex. Both roads have been rendered inaccessible after the bridges serving those areas gave way due to severe erosion caused by the downpour. According to the Assembly, the temporary closure is a precautionary measure aimed at protecting residents, motorists and pedestrians from potential accidents resulting from the damaged infrastructure. Officials explained that the intensity of the rainfall weakened the bridge structures, leading to their collapse and making the roads unsafe for all forms of movement, including vehicles, motorcycles and foot traffic.
