Troops Rescue 372 Civilians in Borno, Plateau, Kaduna, Sokoto

Nigerian troops have rescued 372 kidnapped civilians across Borno, Plateau, Kaduna, and Sokoto states in a series of coordinated counter-terrorism operations, according to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ). The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, disclosed the rescue figure during a weekly press briefing in Abuja on ongoing military operations across the country. Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have killed at least 50 Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in renewed operations in Nigeria’s North-East, the military has said. According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, troops neutralised the terrorists while repelling a coordinated ISWAP assault on the headquarters of the 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Gari and a nearby checkpoint in Yobe State. Troops repel Zamfara attack, arrest rustlers in Borno

Troops of the Nigerian Army have repelled a terrorist attack in Zamfara State, arrested suspected cattle rustlers in Borno and apprehended five suspects during raids on criminal hideouts in Adamawa State. Security sources said troops of 1 Brigade Quick Response Force foiled the attack on Illela village in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara at about 4pm on Saturday. US pulls some embassy staff from Nigeria over insecurity

In a travel advisory issued on Wednesday, the department urged American citizens to reconsider travelling to Nigeria from April 8 2026 due to crime, terrorism, kidnapping, civil unrest and limited healthcare services. Nigeria has been placed at Level 3 Reconsider Travel, while 23 states are now listed under Level 4 Do Not Travel. The advisory newly added Plateau, Jigawa, Kwara, Niger and Taraba to the Level 4 list. Troops kill eight terrorists in Borno, seize RPGs, guns and armed drone

Nigerian troops have killed eight Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in separate clashes in Borno State and recovered heavy weapons, including rocket propelled grenades, rifles and an armed drone. NAF airstrikes kill over 40 terrorists in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force has killed more than 40 terrorists in air operations at Azir and Musarram areas of Borno State.
