3 Children Die Inside Parked Car, Another Drowns in Borno

The Borno State Police Command has begun an investigation into the deaths of three children found lifeless inside a parked vehicle in Maiduguri, the state capital. The victims—three-year-old Anwar, one-year-five-month-old Fatima (popularly called Mama), and five-year-old Ahmed Muhammad—were reported missing on Tuesday after being allegedly lured away by an unidentified woman. ICRC: Over 23,000 People Still Missing in Nigeria

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says more than 23,659 people remain missing in Nigeria, leaving at least 13,595 families in distress, most of them women bearing the weight of uncertainty and hardship. Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have neutralised 12 suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. Mafa, located about 60 kilometres from Maiduguri, has been one of the hotspots of insurgent activities in Borno Central.
