Three people have died and several journalists have been injured in an auto crash in Enugu State. The accident occurred on Saturday night along the Enugu Abakaliki Road as the media crew and others were returning from a public engagement. According to reports, the victims were part of a convoy heading back from an official event when their vehicle was involved in a collision. El Rufai’s Mother’s Remains Arrive Abuja For Burial

The remains of Hajiya Umma, mother of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El Rufai, have arrived in Abuja for burial. She died on Friday in Cairo, Egypt, where she had been receiving medical treatment. Family sources said her body arrived in Abuja on Sunday morning ahead of funeral rites. NDLEA Uncovers Cocaine Hidden In Dry Stock Fish Heads

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have intercepted a large consignment of cocaine concealed in the heads of imported dry stock fish in Lagos. Gunmen Abduct Health Workers In Akure, Police Rescue Victims

Troops arrest three suspects in Benue, recover AK-47 rifle, ammunition

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested three suspects and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a clearance operation in Benue State. The suspects were picked up in the Agasha general area as part of pre–farming season security operations in the North Central zone. The push to establish state police in Nigeria gained momentum yesterday as Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu, through the chairman of the Nigeria Police Force Committee on State Police, Prof. Olu Ogunsakin, submitted a comprehensive framework to the Senate. The 75-page proposal, presented to Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, is expected to guide ongoing constitutional amendments needed to create state police across the country. The committee recommended moving policing from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent List to make state police constitutionally possible.
