Under the new postings, Major General W.M. Dangana has been appointed GOC 3 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace, replacing Major General E.F. Major General J.R. Lar has been named Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, one of the service’s key administrative and operational hubs. In the Army headquarters, Brigadier General O.M. As part of the reorganisation at formation level, Brigadier General I.B. Buhari has been appointed Commander, Headquarters 63 Brigade, while Brigadier General K. In a notable move reflecting the army’s focus on technology and emerging threats, Major General S.A. Emmanuel has been appointed Commander of the Nigerian Army Space Command. The shake-up also covers key training and support institutions. Major General S.O. Adejimi is now Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, while Major General F.S. Etim has been appointed Chief of Training at Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Nigerian Army. According to the army, the postings, approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, take effect between June 9 and June 23, 2026. The service said the changes are part of routine adjustments intended to deepen force readiness, optimise leadership and align commands with current security priorities.
