Femi Adebayo mourns Chief Kanran, says ‘Seven Doors’ marked his final performance
Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actor Olusegun Akinremi, popularly known as Chief Kanran. His last screen appearance was in Femi Adebayo’s yet-to-be-released film, Seven Doors, a coincidence many have described as both symbolic and deeply emotional. In a heartfelt tribute, Adebayo said he never imagined the film’s title, which represents transition and passage, would become a metaphor for Kanran’s final journey. “He played in Seven Doors, and now it feels as though life mirrored art. Nobody thought it would be his last performance. It is painful and shocking,” Adebayo wrote.
