Tehran Reviewing Latest US Response as Trump Suggests He Can Wait

Iran announced on Thursday that it is reviewing Washington's latest position on ending the war after US President Donald Trump said he is prepared to wait a few days to get the right answers from Tehran but warned of renewed attacks if no deal is reached. NYSC to Begin 2026 Batch B Stream I Orientation June 10

The National Youth Service Corps NYSC has announced that the 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation course will commence on Wednesday June 10 2026 across all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory. The Director of Information and Public Relations for the scheme Caroline Embu confirmed the dates in an official statement. The orientation exercise will run for three weeks and will conclude on Wednesday July 1 2026. The online registration portal for Batch B Stream I is expected to open in late May to early June 2026. Call-up letters will be released around Sunday June 8 2026 and the camps will open for the actual orientation course from Wednesday June 10 to Wednesday July 1 2026. Police Arrest Husband Wife for Child Stealing in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a husband and wife for allegedly stealing children in the state. The couple was identified as Isiaka Lukman aged 42 and Abosede Olanipekun aged 23 who are natives of Edo State. They were arrested in connection with a series of child abductions across Ogun and Osun states according to the police. The suspects are accused of kidnapping children and selling them for one million naira each. Police said they recovered 10 of the stolen children after the arrest though some parents are still searching for their missing children. Ebola Risk High Inside DR Congo No Pandemic Emergency WHO Says

The World Health Organization has said that the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo poses a high risk inside the country but does not represent a global pandemic emergency. WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made this statement on Wednesday after meeting with the agency's emergency committee. He confirmed that the outbreak is a public health emergency of international concern but said it does not meet the criteria for a pandemic emergency. The outbreak is concentrated in eastern Ituri province of DR Congo. Health officials have recorded about 246 suspected cases and 80 deaths so far. Nigeria Moves to Tap $3.5trn Global Halal Economy

Nigeria is taking steps to position itself for a bigger share of the fast growing global halal economy estimated at several trillion dollars in value. The federal government and private sector stakeholders are working together to build structures that will allow the country to benefit from halal trade investment and finance opportunities. President Bola Tinubu earlier this year launched Nigeria's National Halal Economy Strategy in Abuja. The policy is designed to help Nigeria tap into the global halal market valued at about 7.7 trillion dollars by promoting standards certification and investments in halal compliant products and services.
