President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board JAMB.
Professor Aina takes over from Professor Is haq Oloyede who completed his tenure after leading major reforms at the examination body. JAMB recently confirmed the change of leadership in its official bulletin for April 2026 where Aina was named as the new Registrar and Chief Executive of the board.
Segun Aina is a respected academic and banking professional known for his work in financial technology and education development. He has served as president of the Africa Fintech Network and is widely regarded as an experienced leader and ecosystem builder in the financial services sector.
His appointment is expected to support further modernization of JAMB operations particularly in the areas of digital examinations data management and transparent admission processes. Under his leadership stakeholders expect JAMB to deepen the use of technology in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME and other services.
The presidency has continued to reshuffle leadership in key education agencies as part of broader reforms aimed at improving standards accountability and service delivery in Nigeria’s tertiary education system.

INEC urges Nigerians to register as CVR closes today
