Tinubu approves N158bn to boost Nigeria’s education sector

President Bola Tinubu has approved N158 billion to strengthen Nigeria’s education sector, with a focus on technical, vocational, and digital skills. Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Ahmad, announced the funding at the 42nd convocation and 50th anniversary of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. She explained that the initiative will train at least 650,000 youths in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET), equipping them with skills to meet the demands of modern industries and the labour market. NAF, Ground Troops Kill 30+ Insurgents in Borno Joint Operation

Police Probe Murder of Lagos Designer Deb’rah Porsche

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the gruesome murder of interior designer Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche. She was allegedly killed by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Lintex, late on Wednesday night in her Lagos residence. Nigeria to launch NigComSat-2A, 2B for stronger connectivity

The Federal Government has announced plans to launch two new communication satellites, NigComSat-2A and NigComSat-2B, to enhance digital transformation, national security, and economic growth. The project, led by Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat Ltd), will replace NigComSat-1R, which has been in service since 2011 and is now expected to operate until January 2028 after a lifespan extension. DHQ Warns Ex-Soldiers to Stop Illegal SDA Protests

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has cautioned discharged soldiers protesting at the Federal Ministry of Finance over the Security Debarment Allowance (SDA), describing the demonstrations as illegal.
