Oborududu Meshref to mentor young stars at 2026 Youth Olympics

Nigerian wrestling legend Blessing Oborududu and Egyptian table tennis star Dina Meshref have been appointed as Athlete Role Models for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee. This appointment comes as Africa prepares to host the Youth Olympics for the first time from October 31 to November 13 2026.​ Oborududu an Olympic silver medalist and multiple African champion will serve alongside Meshref the continent’s most decorated female table tennis player. They join other top global athletes including French judo star Clarisse Agbegnenou Brazilian skateboarder Rayssa Leal and Chinese badminton gold medalist Shiwei Zheng. Court grants Nigerian crypto businessman Blord bail

Celebrity Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has been granted bail after spending weeks in Kuje prison. He was detained over an alleged impersonation of social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.​ The development was announced by activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore in a post on his official Facebook page on Friday.​ According to Sowore, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted Blord bail on self recognizance following his arraignment. The court, however, attached conditions to the bail.​ Sowore stated that the judge ordered Blord to deposit his international passport with the court as part of the bail terms.​ Blord had earlier been remanded in Kuje prison on April 1, pending further proceedings in the case.

United Nigeria grounds three aircraft after repeated bird strikes

Police extradite fugitive to UK over murder, drug trafficking
