Lawmakers said they would wait for the outcome of the ongoing investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, before taking any further action. The matter came up after Senator Suleiman Kawu, who represents Kano South, asked the Senate to investigate how the agency, which the Presidency says does not exist, was included in the 2026 budget with a N1.3 billion allocation.
