The sharp rebuke follows Canberra's announcement that it will formally recognize a Palestinian state ahead of the UN General Assembly in September. Netanyahu's Stark Message On social media, Netanyahu declared: “History will remember Albanese for what he is: a weak politician who betrayed Israel and abandoned Australia’s Jews.” This accusation inflamed relations, especially after Israel retaliated by revoking visas for Australian diplomats to the Palestinian Authority—an apparent response to Australia’s visa cancellation for far-right Israeli lawmaker Simcha Rothman. Australian PM Anthony Albanese responded calmly, stating he had respectfully informed Netanyahu of Australia's intentions ahead of time. He emphasized that the recognition aligns with global sentiment […]

Seven people, including several journalists, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City, according to broadcaster reports. Among the victims was 28-year-old correspondent Anas al-Sharif, whom the Israeli military accused of leading a Hamas terrorist cell. The military has provided limited evidence to support the claim. Sharif had previously worked with a Hamas media team in Gaza before the current conflict. However, some of his earlier social media posts were critical of the group. The strike also claimed the lives of another Al Jazeera correspondent, three camera operators, and a freelance reporter, all of whom were on assignment at the time. Al Jazeera described the incident as a targeted assassination and accused Israel of carrying out a premeditated attack on press freedom. The United Nations condemned the killings, calling them a grave breach of international humanitarian law. The Committee […]

Trump Seeks $1 Billion in Damages from University of California Over UCLA Protests

Trump Administration Demands $1 Billion Fine from University of California Over Antisemitism Claims Los Angeles, CA – The Trump administration has demanded a staggering $1 billion penalty from the University of California (UC) system, alleging insufficient response to antisemitism during 2024 Gaza-related protests at UCLA. The fine, five times larger than Columbia University’s recent settlement over similar claims, could cripple the public university system, officials warn. UC President James Milliken confirmed receipt of the demand Friday, calling it an "existential threat" to the 10-campus network, which includes UCLA. "As stewards of public funds, a penalty of this magnitude would devastate America’s top public university system, harming students and all Californians," Milliken stated. "UC research drives life-saving medical breakthroughs, powers the U.S. economy, and strengthens national security." Political Backlash California Governor Gavin Newsom, a UC regent, vowed legal action during a […]
