Troops kill terrorists, stop kidnappings in fresh raids
Nigerian troops have stepped up operations across several theatres, killing terrorists, foiling kidnap attempts and rescuing victims in different parts of the country. According to military authorities, the coordinated raids targeted armed groups involved in terrorism, banditry and kidnapping. In the North East, troops under Operation Hadin Kai engaged Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in a series of clashes, neutralising several terrorists and destroying their hideouts. Soldiers also rescued civilians who had been targeted for abduction during these operations. Along the Buratai–Kamuya axis, troops escorting civilians came under attack but quickly received reinforcement from a quick reaction force. The combined team repelled the terrorists, forcing them to abandon an attempted mass kidnapping involving more than 150 men, women and children.
