Russia Threatens New Strikes on Kyiv

Russia has warned that it could launch a new series of large-scale strikes on Kyiv, just days after carrying out one of its heaviest attacks on the Ukrainian capital since the war began. In a statement released by the Russian foreign ministry, Moscow said future operations would target what it described as “decision-making centres”, military command posts and drone production facilities located in Kyiv. Russian authorities also urged foreign nationals and diplomats to leave the Ukrainian capital “as soon as possible” and advised citizens to avoid administrative and military sites. Deadly Russian Strikes Hit Kyiv Again

At least eight people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed in Kyiv after Russia launched one of its largest overnight drone and missile attacks on Ukraine since the beginning of the war in 2022. Ukrainian emergency services said the victims were found under the rubble of a heavily damaged apartment building in the capital. Rescue teams are still searching for at least 20 people believed to be trapped beneath the debris. Authorities confirmed that 45 people were injured in the strikes, including two children. Kyiv officials also declared Friday a day of mourning following the deadly attack. Lviv Terror Attack Kills Officer, Injures Dozens

A 23-year-old police officer has died and 25 others were wounded in a terror attack in Lviv, western Ukraine. Authorities reported that two homemade bombs exploded after police responded to a break-in shortly after midnight on Sunday. The explosives were hidden in trash bins. Eleven victims were hospitalized, including six officers in critical condition. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that a suspect had been arrested. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi identified the suspect as a Ukrainian woman. The slain officer has been named Viktoria Shpylka.
