Former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, in a move widely seen as paving the way for his return to the ruling All Progressives Congress.​ His decision followed days of consultations with members of his Shura committee, his core political support group. Davido joins Accord Party, backs Adeleke’s new platform

Grammy nominated singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has formally announced that he is joining the Accord Party, following the path of his uncle and Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke. The music star disclosed the move on his verified X handle, saying he would be in Osun to pick up his membership card.​ Davido revealed that he will collect his Accord Party membership card at Imole House in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
