Iwobi hopeful of quick return after injury blow

Iwobi suffers hamstring scare in Fulham draw with Brentford

Alex Iwobi picked up an injury scare in Fulham’s goalless London derby draw with Brentford on Saturday.​ The Super Eagles midfielder limped off shortly before half time after feeling discomfort in his hamstring. He was replaced by his Nigerian international teammate Samuel Chukwueze.​ Fulham head coach Marco Silva has however moved to calm fears of a serious problem. After the match, he indicated that the initial assessment suggested the injury was not severe.​ The game marked Iwobi’s 255th Premier League start, underlining his experience and importance at this level.
