Deux nutritionnistes formés aux techniques nucléaires pour lutter contre la malnutrition

Face aux défis persistants de la malnutrition et des carences nutritionnelles au Burkina Faso, de nouvelles approches scientifiques viennent compléter les méthodes classiques. Deux jeunes nutritionnistes burkinabè, Wendata Rachidatou Yampa et Patrick Armel Bado, reviennent d’une formation spécialisée au Maroc sur l’utilisation des techniques nucléaires en nutrition humaine, avec l’ambition de mettre cette expertise innovante au service de la santé publique nationale. Une formation de haut niveau soutenue par l’AIEA Les deux spécialistes ont bénéficié d’une bourse de l’Agence internationale de l’énergie atomique (AIEA), avec l’appui des autorités burkinabè, leur permettant de suivre un cursus de deux ans à l’Université internationale de Rabat. The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving Nigeria’s health system by institutionalising nutrition budget tagging at both national and state levels. Speaking in Abuja at the opening of a four-day Training of Trainers workshop on Nutrition Budget Tagging, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Sampson Ebimaro, said the initiative is aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in resource allocation for nutrition programmes. En 2025, ce sont 161 630 élèves qui recevront des repas gratuits à l’école, selon les données de l’Agence Nationale d’Appui au Développement à la Base (ANADEB). Une Répartition Stratégique pour les Zones Vulnérables Les régions les plus défavorisées sont prioritaires : Savanes : 58 122 élèves Plateaux : 33 754 élèves Kara : 30 413 élèves Maritime : 21 446 élèves Centrale : 17 895 élèves L’objectif ? Réduire l’abandon scolaire et améliorer la santé nutritionnelle des enfants, particulièrement en milieu rural. UNICEF Efforts Praised for Tackling Child Malnutrition in Northern Region.

UNICEF's initiatives, including the Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) and Community Infant and Young Child Feeding (C-IYCF), have been commended for improving child nutrition in the Northern Region of Ghana. Working alongside the World Food Programme and funded by the French Government, these interventions trained health workers and community volunteers to detect and treat severe malnutrition.Joseph Nakoja Banyala, Senior Public Health Officer at the Karaga Health Centre, reported that from March to September 2024, 240 malnourished children were identified, with 141 successfully treated. UNICEF’s efforts also included distributing micronutrient powders to over 7,700 children under two, reducing malnutrition by 15%.The intervention also focused on early breastfeeding practices, which saw a 99% improvement in the area.
