Arsenal reach UCL final with unbeaten run

It may seem unusual to say a team heading to a Champions League final has gone somewhat under the radar, but that has largely been the case for Arsenal this season. Much of the focus has been on their push to end a 22-year wait for a Premier League title, overshadowing what has been an outstanding European campaign under Mikel Arteta. Arsenal secured their place in the final in Budapest after a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final. A first-half goal from Bukayo Saka sealed a 2-1 aggregate victory. While the performance at the Emirates Stadium was not their most dominant, Arsenal’s overall displays in Europe this season have been highly effective. They remain the only unbeaten side left in the competition, recording impressive wins against Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Sporting CP. Their […]

UEFA reject Barca handball complaint before Atletico return

UEFA has rejected Barcelona’s complaint over a controversial handball incident in their Champions League quarter‑final first leg defeat to Atletico Madrid, just hours before the return leg. On 13 April 2026, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body declared the protest to be inadmissible,” UEFA said in a statement. The Catalan club had described the decision not to give a spot kick as a “major error” that affected the outcome of the match and criticised the fact that Romanian referee Istvan Kovacs was not asked by VAR to review […]
