FAAN Promises Enhanced Ebola Preparedness at Nigerian Airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has assured travelers and the public that Nigerian airports are now better prepared to detect and prevent the spread of Ebola virus disease. This announcement comes after a new Ebola outbreak was confirmed in the Democratic Republic of Congo. FAAN said it has strengthened health screening measures at all major international airports across the country. The airports covered include Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano and Port Harcourt International Airport. FAAN spokesperson Mrs Henrietta Yakubu said Port Health officials are now on high alert at all airports.
