Veteran Nigerian singer Konga has criticised the current generation of artists for not doing enough to support industry pioneers who are now struggling. Speaking on the Hits Don’t Lie podcast, he argued that Davido should have channelled his famous N200 million birthday donation towards helping music legends instead of giving it to orphanages. Konga said if he were on Davido’s management team at the time, he would have advised him to share the money among older stars facing hardship. According to him, giving about N5 million each to veterans like Baba Fryo, Daddy Showkey and others could have revived their careers and inspired a wave of powerful comeback projects.
