BBNaija Season 10 winner Imisi will receive her full ₦150 million prize money without a significant deduction from the new 25% income tax rate, according to clarifications. Confusion had spread on social media after reports mistakenly claimed ₦37.5 million would be taken from her winnings due to Nigeria's 2025 Tax Reform Act. However, the new law does not take effect until January 2026 and therefore does not apply to her prize, which falls under the 2025 fiscal year. While her winnings may still be subject to existing withholding taxes, they are shielded from the higher, upcoming tax rates. The clarification has brought relief to fans who had expressed outrage online about the potential deduction. Imisi, whose real name is Opeyemi Ayanwale, won the show on Sunday night after a ten-week competition, beating fellow finalist Dede to the grand prize.
