Content creator Carter Efe has become Africa’s most followed streamer on Twitch, after his recent high profile livestream with Afrobeats superstar Davido. He has now surpassed fellow comedian Shank Comics, crossing more than 406,000 followers on the platform.
The collaboration with Davido triggered a major spike in viewership and followers for Efe. Their joint livestream peaked at about 83,000 viewers, setting a new record for the most watched Twitch stream from Africa.
Carter Efe also became the first African streamer to pass 20,000 subscribers on Twitch. The numbers underline his rapid rise as one of the continent’s leading digital entertainers.
Davido’s appearance played a central role in the stream’s success. During the session, the music star connected Efe with several notable personalities, including his wife and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, further boosting excitement among viewers.
The stream also featured lighter moments, including an unscripted challenge from fellow content creator Enzo, who tried to test Efe’s loyalty to Davido’s 30BG fan base. Fans responded enthusiastically, sharing clips and reactions across social media platforms.
