Article arrow_drop_down

Actor Jamiu Azeez has tendered a public apology to his senior colleague Opeyemi Aiyeola, expressing deep regret over past actions that hurt her. He took to Instagram to admit his faults and plead for a second chance.

In his post, Azeez described Aiyeola as his mother, sister, confidant and benefactor. He said he could not tell his life story without her name appearing on every page, acknowledging the depth of the pain he caused her.

He admitted that he acted childishly and is sincerely sorry for everything that happened. With tears and regret, he said his decision to apologise publicly was to show how much he values her and how badly he wants to mend their relationship.

Azeez said he misses her presence in his life and the close bond they once shared. He wondered who would take her place if she refused to forgive him, asking who would stand as his second mother on his wedding day, scold him when he is wrong and cheer him on as his number one fan.

He described himself as a “house” she helped to build and begged her to forgive him for God’s sake. He ended his message by repeating how much he misses her and pleading once again for forgiveness, saying he is truly sorry for everything.

The ministry stressed that only the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has the constitutional power to appoint and accredit ambassadors. It added that no private organisation, association or individual is allowed to confer diplomatic or […]

Insecurity: US to review aid, humanitarian assistance to Nigeria

The United States government is set to review its financial aid and humanitarian assistance to Nigeria amid growing concerns over insecurity and violence in the country. The move follows new proposals in the US Congress that seek to tie parts of American support to clear security and human rights benchmarks. Lawmakers on the US House Appropriations Committee have advanced a State Department funding bill that would place stricter conditions on assistance to Nigeria. Under the proposed framework, up to 50 per cent of certain funds could be withheld until the US Secretary of State certifies that Nigeria is taking “effective steps” to curb violence and protect civilians. The bill also pushes for stronger accountability measures, including investigations and prosecutions of armed groups and security personnel implicated in abuses. Onscreen kissing is weird, unpleasant – Saga Adeoluwa

He adds that the presence of cameras, crew and other actors watching also makes the experience far from romantic. Despite appearing in several romantic movies, Saga says he cannot remember a single onscreen kiss he truly enjoyed. For him, intimate scenes are some of the most challenging parts of acting in love stories. He notes that before shooting any kissing scene, he tries to have a clear discussion with […]
