Airport access gates, car parks, VIP lounges go cashless – FAAN

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that beginning September 29, 2025, all payments at its revenue points will be strictly digital. In a statement on Friday, the agency said the new policy will cover airport access gates, car parks, VIP and protocol lounges across the country’s airports, starting with Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. FAAN explained that the shift was designed to enhance efficiency, transparency, and customer experience, while aligning Nigeria’s airports with global digital payment standards. PSC names conference hall after late ex-chairman Solomon Arase

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has renamed its Chairman’s conference hall after the late Solomon Arase, former Chairman of the Commission and 18th Inspector General of Police. In a statement on Thursday, the PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said the newly named “Solomon Arase Hall” is located on the sixth floor of the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja. “The Police Service Commission has named its Chairman’s Hall on the 6th floor of its Corporate headquarters, as Solomon Arase Hall in honour of its late Chairman,” Ani stated. Arase, who served as IGP between April 2015 and June 2016, was appointed Chairman of the PSC in 2023 and held the role until 2024. Lagos begins demolition of illegal buildings at Trade Fair Complex

The Lagos State Government on Thursday commenced the demolition of illegal and unsafe buildings at the Trade Fair Complex in Ojo, as part of efforts to restore order and enforce urban planning regulations. Lagos fire incidents: NIA pledges swift insurance claims settlement

The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has assured victims of the Sept. 16 fire outbreaks at Afriland Towers and Emab Plaza in Lagos that valid insurance claims will be promptly settled. Fire razes Ibadan market, destroys properties worth millions

A fire outbreak has destroyed goods worth millions of naira at Ogundipe Market, Agodi Gate, in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State on Wednesday. SSANU, NASU extend strike ultimatum by two weeks

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Allied Institutions (NASU) have extended their strike ultimatum to the Federal Government by two weeks. Cybercrime threatens Nigeria’s development, group warns
