The Nigerian Army has neutralised two terrorists, arrested 32 suspects and rescued 13 kidnapped victims during major counter-insurgency and anti-crime operations conducted within the last 24 hours across multiple regions of the country.
A senior military source at Army Headquarters disclosed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday that the coordinated operations were executed in the North East, North Central, North West, South East, and South South.
In the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai arrested three suspected ISWAP/JAS logistics suppliers in Borno and Yobe states. One terrorist was killed in an ambush in Konduga, while another suspect linked to earlier attacks was apprehended in Garkida, Adamawa.
In the North-Central zone, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke neutralised one extremist in Katsina-Ala, Benue State, and rescued 10 kidnap victims in Ukum after a fierce gun battle.
In the North-West, soldiers foiled kidnap attempts in Zamfara, freeing three abducted persons in Anka. Security forces also arrested seven suspects, including a notorious kidnap kingpin in Kaduna and three others in Niger State.
The source added that in the South-East, troops of Operation UDO KA apprehended two suspected cultists with a pistol in Imo and recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Anambra.
In the South-South, troops of Operation Delta Safe arrested 20 suspects involved in illegal oil bunkering, drug trafficking, and kidnapping. They also uncovered over 1,200 litres of illegally refined petroleum products in Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta States.
The military source urged Nigerians to continue supporting the Armed Forces with timely intelligence, stressing that such cooperation was crucial to sustaining the momentum of ongoing operations nationwide.
