Bandits Kill 10, Kidnap Several in Kwara Village Attack
At least 10 people, including a village head (Baale), were killed when bandits attacked Oke-Ode community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State on Sunday morning. Witnesses said the armed men stormed the village, firing sporadically, killing residents, and abducting several others whose number is yet to be confirmed. A member of the local vigilante group, identified as Ajetunmobi, told Sobi FM that security forces failed to act on warnings that the attackers had been sighted since Saturday night. “We alerted security operatives to be prepared, but by morning the bandits launched the attack, starting from the duty post and targeting vigilantes,” he said. Among those killed were Oji, Saheed Metubi, and Baale Ógba Ayo, while others sustained injuries and were rushed to the General Hospital in Share.
