President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the Africa‑France Summit themed “Africa Forward: Africa‑France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.” His aircraft touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:15 a.m. local time on Monday, where he was received by Kenyan officials and Nigerian diplomats.
Tinubu’s trip to Nairobi is the second leg of a three nation tour that began in France and will end in Rwanda later in the week. In France, he held meetings with global investors and reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to fiscal discipline, economic reforms and positioning the country as a prime destination for foreign investment.
The two day summit in Kenya, co chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, runs from May 11 to 12. Key focus areas include energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action and the restructuring of the global financing architecture to better serve African economies.
According to the Nigerian presidency, Tinubu will use the platform to push for fairer global economic rules, more climate finance for Africa and deeper partnerships that support job creation and infrastructure at home. He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with African leaders and top tier global business executives on the sidelines of the summit, targeting new investments in sectors like energy, tech, agriculture and transportation.
After the Nairobi engagements, the President will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum taking place from May 14 to 15, where he is expected to further market investment opportunities in Nigeria. He is due back in the country after the Rwanda leg, ahead of key political and economic engagements later in the month.

Court sentences ex-power minister Saleh Mamman to 75 years over ₦33.8bn fraud
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years in prison after finding him guilty of diverting about ₦33.8 billion in public funds. Navy busts illegal refinery sites in Rivers
