Tinubu to visit France, Kenya, Rwanda for strategic summits

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Saturday, May 2, depart Abuja on a three nation diplomatic trip to France, Kenya and Rwanda aimed at deepening Nigeria’s global partnerships and attracting investment. The visit will focus on economic growth, climate action, digital transformation and high level business engagement. According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s first stop will be in France. Body of Kenyan Leader Raila Odinga Arrives in Nairobi

The body of veteran Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga has arrived in the capital, Nairobi, from India, where he died of a suspected heart attack. A large crowd gathered at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to receive the coffin on Thursday. President William Ruto has announced seven days of national mourning for the influential politician. Odinga's body will lie in parliament before a state funeral service on Friday. DR Congo President Snubs Peace Talks as Goma Faces Rebel Takeover.

The conflict in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, continues to escalate as President Félix Tshisekedi has refused to attend peace talks aimed at resolving the crisis caused by the M23 rebels' assault on the city.
