Au CHU Souro Sanou, le service social poursuit sa mission d’assistance aux patients en difficulté financière afin de garantir leur accès aux soins de santé. Le chef du service, Konané Amidou, a présenté les actions menées par son équipe lors d’une rencontre avec des journalistes le 19 mai 2026.
Selon lui, le service social intervient principalement auprès des patients indigents confrontés à des difficultés pour payer les ordonnances, les examens médicaux ou les frais d’hospitalisation.
« Le service social d’un hôpital est chargé d’identifier les indigents et de les accompagner afin qu’ils puissent également bénéficier des soins de santé », a expliqué M. Konané.
Pour soutenir les cas les plus urgents, l’hôpital dispose de subventions destinées à la prise en charge sociale des malades. Les aides accordées varient selon la gravité des situations et les besoins médicaux des patients.
Le responsable du service a indiqué que certaines prises en charge ont atteint plusieurs millions de francs CFA. « Nous avons aidé des personnes à hauteur de 2 millions, 3 millions, voire 5 millions de francs CFA selon les cas », a-t-il précisé.
Malgré ces efforts, il reconnaît que les ressources disponibles restent limitées face au nombre croissant de patients vulnérables nécessitant une assistance médicale.
« Les questions de santé sont très sensibles et les moyens ne suivent pas toujours », a-t-il confié, tout en saluant les efforts du ministère chargé de la Solidarité nationale pour renforcer progressivement le soutien aux personnes démunies.
Le combat de Mathew Emmanuel
Parmi les bénéficiaires du service figure Mathew Emmanuel, un lycéen originaire de Siby, près de Boromo.
En 2024, alors qu’il participait à un match de football dans son établissement scolaire, il a reçu un violent coup de genou au bas-ventre. La blessure a entraîné une perforation intestinale qui s’est aggravée en péritonite puis en septicémie faute de soins rapides.
Transporté au CHU Souro Sanou, le jeune garçon a subi six interventions chirurgicales.
Son père, Mathew Nathanaël, a expliqué que la famille s’est retrouvée sans ressources après plusieurs opérations coûteuses.
« Nous nous sommes adressés à l’action sociale et ils nous ont soutenus », a-t-il déclaré.
Le coût total des soins a atteint près de six millions de francs CFA. Le service social a notamment aidé la famille à obtenir certains médicaments et produits médicaux grâce à des pharmacies partenaires.
Aujourd’hui, Emmanuel a retrouvé le chemin de l’école, même si une nouvelle intervention chirurgicale reste envisagée.
« C’est grâce à l’action sociale que je suis là aujourd’hui », a confié le jeune lycéen.
Honorine Yaméogo raconte son parcours difficile
Autre bénéficiaire du soutien du service social, Honorine Yaméogo a partagé son histoire marquée par la maladie et les difficultés sociales.
Son problème de santé a commencé par un furoncle contracté pendant sa grossesse, avant de s’aggraver progressivement après l’abandon de son compagnon. Son état a nécessité plusieurs soins médicaux lourds, des transfusions sanguines et finalement une amputation en septembre 2025.
Face à sa situation, le ministère chargé de la Solidarité nationale est intervenu à travers la ministre Nandi Somé/Diallo.
Les frais d’hospitalisation, les médicaments, une prothèse ainsi qu’une assistance alimentaire mensuelle ont été pris en charge. Son enfant né durant cette période bénéficie également d’un accompagnement.
Très émue, Honorine Yaméogo a exprimé sa reconnaissance envers les autorités et le service social.
« Avant, je pleurais. Aujourd’hui, je ris », a-t-elle déclaré les larmes aux yeux.
Elle attend désormais une nouvelle intervention médicale après la découverte d’une anomalie sanguine nécessitant des examens complémentaires.
Les responsables du CHU Souro Sanou estiment que ces témoignages illustrent seulement une petite partie des nombreuses actions sociales menées quotidiennement auprès des patients les plus vulnérables à Bobo-Dioulasso.

Adaklu District Begins Construction of Classroom Blocks and Teachers’ Accommodation for Six Schools
The Adaklu District Assembly has commenced a major educational infrastructure project aimed at improving learning conditions and teacher retention across six communities in the district.
