Kane back in Bayern training ahead of Real Madrid Champions League clash

Harry Kane has taken part in full training with his Bayern Munich team‑mates ahead of their Champions League quarter‑final first leg against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. The England captain is working his way back from a minor ankle complaint picked up on international duty in late March. Kane missed both of England’s friendlies, including the 1–0 defeat to Japan, and was left out of Bayern’s 3–2 Bundesliga win over Freiburg at the weekend as a precaution. Bayern officials, including coach Vincent Kompany and sporting director Max Eberl, have expressed confidence that the 32‑year‑old will be ready for Tuesday’s game in Spain. Reports from the club’s final training session indicate that Kane moved freely and showed no obvious discomfort, raising expectations that he could start against Madrid. His return is a major boost for Bayern, with the striker currently […]

The warning comes amid spiralling tensions with the United States and Israel over attacks on Iranian territory and regional interests. In a statement carried by state media, commanders said that any repeat attacks on civilian sites would trigger broader and more destructive waves of offensive and retaliatory operations. They accused Washington and Tel Aviv of already resorting to hitting non‑military facilities in an effort to compensate for battlefield “failures”. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its recent “True Promise” operations had targeted enemy assets in countries hosting US and Israeli forces, including sites in the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait. It warned that if civilian facilities continue to be attacked, the next phase of strikes would […]

The Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria has demanded a public apology from Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike over his controversial remark about Channels TV anchor Seun Okinbaloye. While Wike later clarified that he did not intend physical harm, IBAN said public officials must avoid expressions suggesting violence because they can worsen an already hostile environment for media practitioners who face surveillance, attacks and arbitrary arrests. US–Iran conflict: MAN lists urgent steps to shield Nigerian manufacturers

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria has warned that the escalating US–Iran conflict and wider Middle East tensions could severely disrupt Nigeria’s manufacturing sector through higher energy costs, shipping delays and imported‑input inflation. MAN says the shock comes just as inflation and capacity utilisation were beginning to improve, raising fears that recent macroeconomic gains could be reversed. To cushion the blow, MAN is urging the Federal Government to prioritise access to foreign exchange for manufacturers importing critical raw materials and spare parts. The association also wants domestic refineries compelled to allocate sufficient fuel and diesel to local industries at predictable prices to reduce exposure to volatile global markets. On logistics, MAN has called for an immediate six‑month suspension of multiple haulage levies, discretionary highway taxes and transit tolls that have made product distribution more expensive nationwide. It further recommends fast‑tracking energy […]

The affected states include Kano Abia Bauchi Gombe Kebbi and Adamawa where local dynamics and existing rivalries could complicate their paths to party tickets. In several of these states, incumbent governors and influential bloc leaders are said to be uncomfortable with the growing profiles of the former federal appointees. According to the report, some state party leaders fear that a direct entry of ex‑ministers into the 2027 race could upset delicate zoning arrangements and existing succession understandings. This has raised the prospect of silent feuds between the presidency’s allies and […]
