Contractor sets new date for Ofankor-Nsawam road completion

Work on the Ofankor-Nsawam Dual Carriage Road project, which has already missed the initial July 20, 2024, completion date, will miss the revised completion date of May 21, 2025.  The completion of the project will be delayed by 15 more months because of unresolved compensation issues for persons affected by the project and the relocation of service lines of utility agencies such as the Electricity Company of Ghana and Ghana Water Limited. Per the current progress report, the project is 74 per cent complete, and thus, cannot be delivered on the revised completion date of May 21, this year. Constitution Review Committee receives over 600 reform proposals, NDC, NPP yet to submit proposals

The Constitutional Review Committee has received more than 600 submissions on proposed reforms to Ghana's 1992 Constitution, but the two main political parties have not yet contributed to the process, Dr Rainer Akumperigya, Secretary of the CRC has said. He was speaking on Joy FM's NewsFile programme on Saturday, May 3, 2025. According to him, the committee has recorded 325 online submissions and over 200 hard copy proposals. Takoradi: Dawn swoop leads to arrest of suspected drug dealers

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) on Saturday stormed a suspected den of drug addicts in Takoradi and arrested a number of suspects. According to NACOC officials, the raid resulted in the arrest of several individuals believed to be connected to narcotics distribution networks in the Western Regional capital. They said they seized an undisclosed quantity of suspected illicit drugs. NACOC says it was going to do laboratory analysis to determine the exact type and volume of the drugs seized.
