À l’occasion du 65e anniversaire de l’indépendance du Togo, un événement historique marquera les célébrations ce vendredi : la pose de la première pierre de l’Université de Datcha, en présence du Président Faure Gnassingbé.
Ce projet symbolise une avancée majeure dans la modernisation du système d’enseignement supérieur togolais.
Située dans la région des Plateaux, entre Ogou et Amou, cette nouvelle université publique – la troisième du pays après celles de Lomé et de Kara – a pour ambition de rapprocher l’éducation supérieure des jeunes et de renforcer le développement régional.
L’Université de Datcha proposera des filières innovantes dans des secteurs clés comme la santé, l’agriculture, l’ingénierie et la technologie, répondant ainsi aux besoins du marché de l’emploi tout en promouvant une équité territoriale.
Sur une superficie initiale de 18 600 m², la première phase de construction comprendra cinq bâtiments essentiels : la Faculté des Sciences de la Santé, l’Institut des Métiers de l’Agriculture, l’Institut Polytechnique de l’Innovation, la présidence de l’université et un restaurant moderne.
Issu d’un partenariat public-privé entre le gouvernement togolais et Envol Partenariats Togo, ce projet reflète la vision d’un Togo tourné vers l’avenir, où l’éducation rime avec inclusion, innovation et excellence.

ECG Explains Power Outages in Greater Accra and Western Regions Following Technical Faults
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has attributed ongoing power interruptions in parts of the Greater Accra and Western regions to separate technical faults affecting its distribution network. In a statement issued on Monday, June 8, 2026, the power distributor said a technical fault at the Nsawam Primary Station has disrupted electricity supply to several communities within the Accra West operational area. The affected communities include Hebron, Medie, Samsam, Satellite, Koleman and nearby areas, where residents have been experiencing intermittent power outages. Three Rescued as Rescue Teams Search for Trapped Victims After North Industrial Area Building Collapse
Rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate and extract individuals believed to be trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed building in Accra’s North Industrial Area following a structural failure that has left several people injured.
