West Ham thrash Wolves 4 0 to push Spurs into bottom three

West Ham United moved out of the Premier League relegation zone with a resounding 4 0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the London Stadium on Friday night, a result that dropped Tottenham Hotspur into the bottom three. Konstantinos Mavropanos opened the scoring just before half time, powering in a header from Jarrod Bowen’s second cross after West Ham were controversially awarded a corner. Wolves, who were playing their first match in 25 days, started brightly but failed to take early chances, with Adam Armstrong twice missing good opportunities to put them ahead. After the break, West Ham took full control. Valentin Castellanos struck twice in quick succession midway through the second half, first finishing a one two with Pablo with a low shot that Jose Sa should have saved, then adding a second with a deflected effort that squeezed past […]

Man City stars face Christmas weigh in warning

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has warned his players not to overindulge during their brief Christmas break, saying anyone who returns overweight will be left out of the squad to face Nottingham Forest. He revealed that the entire squad was weighed before the holiday and will be checked again when they report back to training on December 25. Guardiola said the players had asked for a day off after the 3–0 win over West Ham, but he refused, insisting they had not played well enough to earn it. Instead, the team held a recovery session on Sunday, trained those who did not feature, and were then given three days off before regrouping ahead of the trip to Nottingham. The City boss explained that the weigh in is meant to ensure the players maintain top fitness levels despite the festive period.  Salah trains with Liverpool but set to miss Inter clash

Mohamed Salah took part in Liverpool training on Monday but is not expected to be in the squad to face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday. The session was held at Anfield before the team’s trip to Italy and was open to the media. The 33 year old forward recently granted a tense interview in which he said he felt thrown under the bus by the club during a difficult season. He also stated that his relationship with head coach Arne Slot had broken down. Salah was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s 3 3 draw at Leeds United at the weekend, the third consecutive match he has started on the bench. Chelsea welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Sunday in one of the Premier League’s standout fixtures this weekend, with both London rivals looking to strengthen their positions in an increasingly tight title race. Arsenal’s sharp, well-organised attack will test a Chelsea side still searching for sustained consistency in what could prove an important early-season marker. Mikel Arteta’s men arrive in west London with growing confidence after a strong run of league form. Their frontline has been incisive, their pressing coordinated and their midfield balance continually improving, with pace out wide and fluid rotations expected to help them dominate possession for long spells. Chelsea, however, carry a notable counter-attacking threat that could unsettle the visitors if they exploit transitions well. The Blues are also buoyed by a commanding 3–0 Champions League victory over Barcelona, a result they hope will spark greater […]

Rice Scores Against West Ham as Arsenal Go Top of League

Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 victory over West Ham United, fueled by a goal from former Hammer Declan Rice. Rice broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, scoring from a rebound against the club he left last summer. The Gunners doubled their lead in the 67th minute when Bukayo Saka confidently converted a penalty after Jurriën Timber was fouled in the box. The win was slightly marred by an injury to captain Martin Ødegaard, who was forced off in the first half. The result puts Arsenal at the summit, at least until Liverpool plays later on Saturday.

Lucas Paquetá Cleared of Spot-Fixing Allegations After FA Investigation

West Ham midfielder Lucas Paquetá has been cleared of four spot-fixing charges after an independent regulatory commission ruled the allegations were “not proven.” The Football Association confirmed it will not appeal the decision, bringing an end to a long-running investigation. The Brazilian international had been accused of deliberately getting booked in four Premier League matches against Leicester City in November 2022, and against Aston Villa, Leeds United, and Bournemouth during 2023 in order to influence betting markets. He consistently denied the charges. However, the commission did find Paquetá guilty of failing to fully co-operate with the FA’s investigation, citing breaches of Rule F3 over missing documents and information requests. The sanction for those offences will be decided and published soon. Paquetá, who joined West Ham from Lyon for £36.5m in 2022, was a key part of the squad that lifted […]

West Ham reject loan move for Man United’s Andre Onana

West Ham United have turned down the chance to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana on loan, according to reports from The Guardian. The Hammers are in search of a new goalkeeper after summer signing Mads Hermansen, brought in from Leicester City, failed to impress in his early games. However, the club does not see Onana, who has lost his place at Old Trafford, as an upgrade on their current options. Onana, 29, was dropped by United manager Ruben Amorim this season, with Altay Bayindir preferred as first-choice. Although he returned for United’s Carabao Cup clash against Grimsby Town, he struggled again—misjudging a cross for the Mariners’ second goal. United went on to suffer a shock exit, losing 12-11 on penalties after a 2-2 draw. West Ham remain focused on other targets. The club is in talks with Hull City […]
