UNIZIK to Upgrade Pre-Science Centre into Mini-Campus
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced plans to upgrade its Pre-Science Centre at Mbaukwu community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State into a fully-fledged mini-campus of the institution. The Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, disclosed the development, stating that the upgrade will bring attendant benefits including improved infrastructure, better learning facilities, and enhanced accommodation for students enrolled in the university's pre-science programme. The Mbaukwu-based Pre-Science Centre was designed to provide intensive and effective remedial and preparatory learning for students seeking admission into science-related programmes. The programme covers core science subjects including Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Geography for core science students, while non-core science students study Mathematics, English, Geography, Economics, Government, and Literature—a total of six subjects.
