Israel Rejects Hamas Proposal for Gaza Hostage Deal and Ceasefire

Israel has dismissed a new statement from Hamas claiming the group is ready for a “comprehensive deal” to end the Gaza war and release all hostages. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the announcement contained “nothing new” and reiterated that the war would only end if the remaining 48 hostages were freed, Hamas was disarmed, Gaza was fully demilitarized, Israel secured control, and a new civilian administration was put in place.
