Runsewe to lead Yellow Greens at West Africa Trophy

Wicketkeeper Sulaimon Runsewe will lead Nigeria’s senior men’s cricket team, the Yellow Greens, as they begin their title defence at the West Africa Trophy in Abuja on Thursday.​ Head coach and high-performance manager of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Steve Tikolo, named a 14-man squad for the tournament, with regular captain Sylvester Okpe allowing Runsewe to take over the leadership role while still remaining in the team.​ Runsewe will be joined by players such as Selim Salau, Ali Rahmon, Daniel Ajekun and Danladi Isaac in what is expected to be a highly competitive regional event.​ The squad also includes the Okpe brothers, Sylvester and Isaac, whose international experience strengthens Nigeria’s balance in both batting and bowling.​ Others in the team are Vincent Adewoye, Kenneth Boniface, Prosper Useni, Ukasha Ishaku, Elochukwu Ndubudem, Joshua Asia and Abdullahi Ismail, giving the side a blend […]
