Adamawa govt imposes 24 hour curfew in Lamurde

The Adamawa State government has imposed a 24 hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area following a renewed communal clash in the area. Troops rescue six kidnapped victims in Kogi

Troops of the Nigerian Army, working with other security agencies, have rescued six kidnap victims during a joint operation in Kogi State.​ The operation was carried out around the Osara–Okene axis after security forces received credible intelligence on the movement and location of the kidnappers and their hostages.​ Acting on the information, the troops and other security personnel launched a coordinated raid on the criminals’ hideout, engaging the suspects and forcing them to abandon the captives and flee into the surrounding forest.​ All six victims were rescued alive and taken into safety, where they received medical checks and counselling before being reunited with their families.​ The security agencies vowed to sustain the offensive against criminal gangs operating in Kogi and neighbouring states, calling on residents to continue sharing timely information to support ongoing operations.​
