Togo : profanation à l’église Maria Auxiliadora de Gbényédzi

Un acte de profanation a profondément marqué la communauté catholique de Lomé. Le 25 août, un individu non identifié a déposé un sachet contenant des excréments humains devant une croix à l’intérieur de l’église Maria Auxiliadora de Gbényédzi, deux jours seulement après l’ordination de neuf nouveaux prêtres. Face à la gravité de cet incident, l’administration apostolique de l’archidiocèse de Lomé a ordonné la fermeture temporaire du lieu de culte. Les responsables religieux ont indiqué qu’une période de purification spirituelle et de recueillement sera observée avant toute réouverture. Ce n’est pas la première fois qu’un tel acte est signalé. Il y a un peu plus d’un an, une profanation similaire avait déjà été constatée dans l’église catholique de Bè-Kpota.
