Panic As Gunmen Attack Students’ Hostels At Ekiti University
There was panic on Monday night as gunmen attacked students’ hostels around Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. The incident occurred in off campus lodges in the Phase 2 area of the university community. Eyewitnesses said the attackers, armed with guns and other weapons, moved from hostel to hostel robbing students of their valuables. Items carted away included mobile phones, laptops and cash, leaving many students traumatised. A student identified on X as @yapperaholicc raised the alarm in the early hours of Tuesday. In the post, the student said armed men were attacking hostels where students were supposed to be reading for exams and claimed similar attacks had been going on for three days.
