IGP Honours 17 Police Officers Killed in Terror Attack in Yobe
The Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu has honoured 17 police officers who lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Yobe State. The officers were killed on May 8 2026 during a coordinated terrorist assault on the Nigerian Army Special Forces School in Buni Yadi Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. The police officers were undergoing specialised operational training at the military facility when terrorists attacked from multiple directions in the early hours of the morning. IGP Disu described the fallen officers as courageous and dedicated personnel who showed exceptional patriotism. He said their participation in advanced counter-terrorism and tactical training programmes proved their commitment to national security.
