Meta to cut 8,000 jobs amid AI push

Meta is preparing a major round of layoffs, with thousands of employees expected to lose their jobs next month as the company ramps up investment in artificial intelligence (AI). According to an internal memo shared with staff, the tech giant plans to cut about 10% of its workforce, representing roughly 8,000 positions. Trump taps top tech chiefs for new US science council

United States President Donald Trump has appointed a group of high profile technology leaders, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google co founder Sergey Brin, to his new President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The council will guide the White House on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, advanced computing and national security innovation.
