Troops Rescue 360 Women, Children Abducted by Boko Haram in Gwoza

Nigerian security personnel have rescued 360 hostages, including many women and children, from a mountainous refuge in Borno State, where they had been held by Boko Haram's Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction. The operation, led by the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, targeted the Mandara Mountains in the southern part of the state. The military confirmed Sunday that the hostages had been abducted by the JAS faction over an indeterminate period from various localities across the region. A collaborative task force, including special forces, compelled JAS militants to flee their positions and liberated the captives. ISWAP second in command killed as military steps up Sambisa offensive

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have killed Abu Khalid, the reported second in command of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), during a major night offensive in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State.​ The operation, launched around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Komala general area of Konduga Local Government Area, also resulted in the elimination of at least 10 other fighters linked to the terror group. Troops Neutralise Seven Terrorists, Recover Ammunition In Renewed Offensive

Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Hadin Kai have intensified their offensive in the North East Theatre, killing seven terrorists during a series of ambushes across Borno State in the last 24 hours. The 192 Battalion and hybrid forces killed four terrorists in the Pulka-Gwoza axis, recovering a mobile phone with a Cameroonian SIM card. Troops of 152 Task Force Battalion at Kumshe, Bama LGA, eliminated two terrorists crossing into Nigeria from Cameroon in a night ambush along the Banki-Kumshe route. Another terrorist was killed by 192 Battalion near Kwatarakasa village, Gwoza, forcing others to flee toward the Mandara Mountains.
