Turkey opposes military operations against Iran
Turkey says it is against any military operation against Iran, warning that foreign intervention would only deepen crises in the country and across the Middle East. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told journalists in Istanbul that Iran’s internal problems must be resolved by Iranians themselves, not imposed from outside. Fidan said Ankara does not want instability in neighbouring Iran, even though it recognises there are serious issues within Iranian society and government. He cautioned that attempts by the United States or Israel to use force would likely worsen tensions and trigger wider regional conflict.
