US–Israeli strikes have killed the head of intelligence of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Majid Khademi, in a fresh escalation of the ongoing confrontation with Tehran. The Guards announced on Monday that Khademi was killed “at dawn” in what they described as a terrorist attack by the American‑Zionist enemy.
Khademi was a key figure in one of Iran’s most powerful security organs, overseeing sensitive intelligence operations at home and abroad. Israeli sources cited by international media said the precision strike also eliminated at least one senior Quds Force commander involved in overseas operations.
The killing follows a series of joint US–Israeli attacks that have targeted senior Iranian commanders since late February, including officers linked to naval and regional operations. Iranian officials have vowed retaliation, warning that the death of such a high‑ranking intelligence chief will not go unanswered.
Analysts fear the strike could trigger another round of Iranian drone and missile attacks on Israeli and US interests in the region, further roiling global markets and heightening security risks around key waterways. With casualties on both sides mounting, diplomats are warning that miscalculation could push the confrontation into a wider regional conflict.
