NAHCON Hails Lagos, Southwest Pilgrims for Discipline and Compliance

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has praised pilgrims from Lagos State and the Southwest region for their exemplary discipline and compliance during the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NAHCON officials commended Lagos and Southwest pilgrims for maintaining high standards of conduct throughout the pilgrimage rites, describing them as among the most disciplined state contingents in the Kingdom. The commission highlighted their orderly behaviour during ceremonies at Mount Arafat, Mina, and other holy sites. During the Hajj, NAHCON led approximately 50,000 Nigerian pilgrims, including strong contingents from Lagos and Southwest states, in special prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the nation's peace and stability at Mount Arafat. Les premiers pèlerins togolais arrivent à Médine

Les premiers pèlerins togolais ont foulé le sol saoudien à Médine, marquant le début officiel du Hajj pour le Togo cette année. À leur arrivée, les fidèles ont été accueillis par Abdoul Kahar Souley, chargé d’Affaires par intérim du consulat du Togo à Djeddah, ainsi que par des responsables du ministère saoudien du Hajj et de la Omra. Au total, 2 425 pèlerins togolais sont attendus en Arabie saoudite dans le cadre du grand pèlerinage musulman. Les autorités togolaises et saoudiennes ont mis en place des dispositifs d’accompagnement afin d’assurer le bon déroulement du séjour des fidèles, depuis leur arrivée jusqu’aux différents rites du Hajj. Chaque année, le pèlerinage à La Mecque rassemble des millions de musulmans venus du monde entier. En 2025, environ 1,7 million de fidèles avaient participé au Hajj.

Hajj 2026: 343 Lagos pilgrims land safely in Saudi Arabia

The first batch of 343 intending pilgrims from Lagos State has arrived safely in Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj exercise. The contingent, made up of 169 males and 174 females, touched down at the King AbdulAzeez International Airport in Madinah on Friday evening. According to the Lagos State Pilgrims Welfare Board, the pilgrims departed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, aboard a Flynas flight XY8504 at about 6:26 p.m. local time. Officials said the journey was smooth and without incident, with the aircraft landing in Madinah in the early hours of Saturday. NAHCON Cuts 2026 Hajj Fare, Pilgrims to Save ₦200,000

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced reduced fares for the 2026 pilgrimage to Mecca, with each pilgrim expected to save an average of ₦200,000 compared to last year. NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed the new pricing after the commission signed service agreements with Saudi Arabia’s Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya (Hajj Service Provider) and Daleel Al-Ma’aleem (Transportation Company). According to the commission, fares will range between ₦8.1 million and ₦8.5 million, depending on the departure zone. Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba): ₦8,118,333.67, down by about ₦209,000 from the 2025 fare of ₦8,327,125.59.
