Several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Canada, have condemned Israel’s treatment of pro-Palestinian activists detained after Israeli naval forces intercepted a Gaza-bound aid flotilla in the Mediterranean. The controversy intensified after Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir shared a video on social media showing detained activists kneeling with their hands tied behind their backs while he waved an Israeli flag and addressed them. The footage sparked strong international reactions and criticism from rights groups.
