Sokoto, UNICEF step up action on out-of-school children

The Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board has stepped up efforts to reduce the high number of out-of-school children through expanded early childhood education and major reforms, according to its Executive Chairman, Umar Tambuwal.​ Speaking at a media dialogue on educational reform for Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara, Tambuwal said education is central to the state’s future and that early childhood investment is key to reversing poor learning outcomes. Fed Govt sets up team for 1m digital skills drive

UNICEF Urges Massive Investment in Digital Skills as Youth Population Surges

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has called for urgent, large-scale investment in digital skills to prepare Nigeria’s rapidly expanding youth population for the jobs of the future. Speaking at a media dialogue in Lagos, UNICEF’s Chief of Field Office, Celine Lafoucriere, warned that failure to act now could deepen inequality and undermine Nigeria’s development. By 2030, Nigeria will be home to an estimated 126 million children, making it one of the world’s youngest nations. Over 28 million children are already out of school, and 15% of Nigerian girls aged 15–24 are neither in school, employment, nor training. Ogun State Graduates First Certified Digital Technicians

Kano to Empower 1.5 Million Youths with Digital Skills

The Kano State Government has announced plans to empower 1.5 million young people with digital literacy and skills between 2025 and 2027, as part of efforts to reduce unemployment and boost economic productivity.
