Asamoah pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing and was convicted on her own plea.The theft took place between March 22 and June 2, 2024, when Asamoah failed to remit the proceeds from lotto sales received from sub-agents to the head office in Kumasi. Painter Caught on CCTV Stealing GH₵1M Cables from Bank of Ghana Site

A painter working on the new Bank of Ghana headquarters at Ridge, Accra, has been remanded in police custody for allegedly stealing copper cables worth GH₵1,035,500. The suspect, Ahmed Mohammed Lawal, was identified through CCTV footage and later arrested.According to prosecutors, Lawal and two accomplices—who are still at large—broke into the Energy Farm section of the construction site on February 16, 2025. Using a scaffold, they gained access and cut several bundles of copper cables before making away with them.Investigations revealed that Lawal sold his share of the stolen items at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, earning GH₵2,000. However, he was unable to assist police in tracking down his accomplices or the buyer.The court, presided over by Mrs. Sedinam Awo Kwadam, has adjourned the case to March 19, 2025, as investigations continue.

Painter Jailed for Office Laptop Theft.

A 25-year-old painter, Kelvin Boateng, has been sentenced to three years in prison for stealing a laptop from an office in La Kojo Sardine, Accra.Boateng was caught after he scaled a fence to enter the office premises on December 31, 2024. He snuck into one of the rooms and took an HP laptop but was spotted by a witness while trying to escape. He fled and hid in an uncompleted building, but the complainant, Mc Dennis Appau, and other witnesses pursued him and retrieved the stolen device.The police arrested Boateng, and during interrogation, he admitted to the crime. He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing in court, leading to his conviction by Judge Christina Cann. As he was escorted in handcuffs to begin his sentence, Boateng broke down in tears.

Hunter Sentenced to 24 Months for Stealing Phones and Cash.

Donkor pleaded guilty to stealing GH¢2,500 in cash, a pair of Jordan sneakers, and three mobile phones—a Samsung Galaxy A21, a Samsung Galaxy 8 Edge, and an iPhone X—totaling GH¢9,700 in value. The theft occurred on December 31, 2024, when Donkor broke into the residence of a 21-year-old cocoa purchasing clerk while he slept. Following his arrest, the police recovered the stolen phones, though one was damaged; however, the cash and sneakers were not retrieved. Presiding Judge Isaac Osei Asare advised Donkor to abandon unproductive behaviors and focus on self-improvement after serving his sentence.
